A garden terrace

Gardens, whether it be a back garden, a communal open space or a private terrace are designed to give enjoyment, calmness and an environment to reflect in and unwind. Gardens that are designed to function in a working environment have to tick a lot of boxes and often have less than favourable conditions to make them work. Office spaces often utilise their top floor outside terraces to create an extended workspace outside. These areas are used not only for relaxing in but also as outside meeting spaces and entertainment areas.

This outside terrace designed by Tom Stuart-Smith was complemented by the majestical St Paul’s Cathedral in the background, not a bad backdrop to have to your work. I love the vibrant colours of the grasses and the purples in these shots which were taken just after some rain on quite an overcast day.
