I love taking photos of nature and gardens, and outside. I must admit I am a bit more keen on the spring and summer when it warms up a bit, although I don’t mind getting out with my camera if its really misty, frosty or snowy because you can get some interesting shots. What do you like photographing outside? Are you an any weather photographer or more fair weather like me?
Photographing local areas for brochures and local guides involves a fair bit of leg work but can involve anything from shooting cockle farming at Leigh on Sea to walking to the top of Horsenden Hill, finding a good angle of Battersea Power Station (can’t avoid the scaffolding) rowers at Putney Bridge or helicopters landing at the heliport in Wandsworth.
Area photography has many uses whether to accompany property portfolios to build a picture of the area surrounding the marketed property or for advertising and marketing for local authorities and businesses. Whatever the end purpose, the aim is to produce the best images possible. Plus it’s also a lot of fun.

I was approached by Local Authority Publishing to photograph a couple more of their guides. Instead of Town guides these are London Borough guides. The London Boroughs are huge areas and so I had my work cut out to navigate around all the main points of interest in these areas. However I am pleased with the results and the interactive digital versions can be found on the links below. I don’t have the hard copies yet as they are being posted out to residents in the next week.

We popped over to Ingatestone classic car show as my daughter loves old cars. In-between cloud bursts we got to see some great cars.
