Another interior photography shoot in London for Plus Rooms and this time it was a kitchen extension on the back of a terraced house. It’s a lovely bright space that has been created with the use of a large picture window in the back and multiple skylights in the roof. The owner has decorated it beautifully giving it a homely, modern feel. Outside the small courtyard garden is tiled with raised flower beds around the outside.
Some interiors lend themselves to being in black and white and the house I recently shot in Hockley was one of those that looked good in both colour and black and white. Whilst black and white is not the usual medium for interior photography I really wanted to show a few of these shots converted. Some interiors it really doesn’t suit especially those where the use of colour has been the main design element. As a lover of black and white photography I am always mindful of flipping an image to see how it comes out. I think these few work well.
Another stunning kitchen extension by Plus Rooms in London SE22. Love the colour of the units and the pink tiled splash back.
Garrison Beach is a new development of five, three story terraced houses. They have private roof gardens which offer views of the nearby Shoebury East Beach. They are designed by Architect Lindsey Wislocki, owner of Hedgehog Development On the ground floor there is a wonderful modern, bright open kitchen and dining area which opens with two sets of double doors onto a decked outside area. Beautifully designed houses with a superb finish. Photos of the show house below.

I didn’t expect to find this stunning architecture designed house down a side road in Hockley, Essex. The house is modern, bright and welcoming. On entering, the central hallway runs the length of the house with door ways off to both the left and right. Above in the high ceiling are windows which flood the hallway with light. The whole house has polished concrete floors with underfloor heating which stops space on the walls being taken up with unsightly radiators. To the left is the open plan living and kitchen area with doors that open on to the terrace outside. Windows have been used cleverly throughout the house to bring in light, even in the ensuite shower room there is a ceiling window above the shower. The use of natural wood inside and out softens the design and brings a warmth to it. The house was designed by Lawrence Becker, owner of Atelier 73 in Southend on Sea, Essex. I love it.
